Eurovac Downdraft Table (Weld Fumes & Sanding/Grinding Dust)

Any metal transforming facility will include welding, grinding or sanding on metals. These processes create harmful pollutants which rise into the worker’s breathing zone. The usual articulated fume arms for source capture may not be the best solution so Eurovac offers a wide variety of hands free method known as downdraft suction tables for a cleaner work environment. This method allows the worker to concentrate on the process without having to worry about annoying volatile dust which may escape in the facility and polluting breathable air. Tables come in standard surfaces of 30’’ x 30’’ (750mm x 750mm) for smaller applications with less air volume and sizes up to 48’’ deep x 96’’ wide (1200mm x 2400mm) for bulky pieces which may require substantial amount of CFM. The perforated work surfaces can also be reinforced if extremely heavy objects need to be sitting on the table while work is being performed. Other applications may include dust coming from sanding or buffing wood or plastics, odors resulting from gluing composites (charcoal filters would be required), plasma cutting, soldering, capture of plumes of dust resulting from batching/weighing in powder or bulk processing plants. All tables comply with local and federal clean air requirements when equipped with the right filters and fans. Eurovac also offers downdraft work tables without filters or fans so they would be connected to a central dust collector by means of a main exhaust manifold.

Wet Downdraft Table

Since most if not all solid contaminants are caught in the water stream, clean breathable air is pumped back into the workplace without the costly add-on of a fire or explosion suppressing device. This feature also means you will not need to do with the expense and maintenance of a make-up air unit! Using robust 12 and 14 gage steel protected by a powder coat paint finish, the unit will resist to premature rust since the water containment section is lined with a thick film of polyethylene.
